Our Mission
Our mission is to bridge opportunity through technology — equipping returning citizens with the skills, confidence, and support to succeed in technical careers and contribute meaningfully to Michigan’s growing economy. We bridge the gap between reentry and employment by connecting individuals with hands-on training in automation, robotics, and advanced manufacturing, helping them transition into sustainable careers.
Our Story
Joshua Boggues was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, carrying dreams far larger than the limits of his surroundings. Through faith and grit, he built a successful LED lighting company and became a trade ally with DTE and Consumers Energy, but when the 2020 pandemic struck, his marriage and personal life unraveled. In a matter of months, everything he had worked for collapsed — everything except his determination and his trust in God. His journey mirrors the spirit of The Pursuit of Happiness: the kind of struggle only those who have lived through it can fully understand.
Joshua was forced to rebuild from the bottom, cope with his wife’s infidelity, fight to be present in his children lives and keep his sanity. These obstacles presented hurdles that he stumbled across and he learned from mistakes. After paying his debt to society he realized that God will forgive you, but society will leave you hanging on your own cross.
When reflect about Christ’s sacrifice on the cavalry we sometimes forget that two other people who had been hanging there with him had also been convicted criminals. We often think of the paradise offered to the one thief, but lose sight of the fact that none of the three men committed crimes that warranted their punishment. We don’t know what lead to their thief, was it greed or the pains of hunger, but Joshua believes that it could have been both. Christ taught about the power of forgiveness, a framework for society. He taught of redemption and God’s plan of reconciliation. Therefore, let him without sin cast the first stone.
Just as bridges are engineered to carry weight for decades, Tech Bridge was created to carry people — the overlooked, the underestimated, and the ones society quietly leaves behind. Joshua understands that just as there are levels of repentance, there are also levels of accountability - Tech Bridge is his way of honoring both.
Our Vision
Reduce recidivism rates through our wrap around services; which address all of the major pain points of those truly seeking redemption.
Foundation of vision: Luke 5:31-32
Why It Matters
Thousands of skilled jobs in Michigan go unfilled each year, while talented men and women returning from incarceration face barriers to employment. Tech Bridge stands at that intersection — helping people rebuild and helping industries grow. When returning citizens and under-served individuals are given the tools required to gain stability, recidivism drops and businesses thrive!
Help build the Bridge!
Whether you’re a community member, employer, or partner, you help strengthen the very structure of the bridge we’re building across Michigan. Your support becomes the foundation that anchors our work, the pillars that hold people up, the beams that carry their weight, and the guardrails that keep them safe as they move forward.
Together, we can build a deck wide enough for every individual seeking a second chance to cross with confidence. With the right tools and a strong community behind them, anyone can travel from struggle to stability — and reach the better future waiting on the other side.
